Curriculum

Learning in small groups

At Peponi House, we believe that our role as educators is to give our children the best possible foundation for what lies ahead. We are, after all, a preparatory school and excellent preparation is what we set out to achieve. By the time they leave us, our pupils will be confident young adults who are ready to face the future with poise and self-belief.

The children will need to be able to cope with a constantly changing working environment where life-long learning is a matter of course and where the pace of change increases exponentially.

In order to face this uncertain future with confidence, the children need to be given the opportunity to learn how to learn. They need to understand their own learning style. They need to be able to make best use of the intellectual tools necessary to take ownership of their learning and to become discerning users of the mass of data to which they are exposed.

We focus on the child as an individual and, in a safe and happy environment, children can be stretched and challenged. They learn to succeed and, importantly, they learn to cope with disappointment so this can become a valuable part of the learning process. Gifted children are given extension tasks to widen their knowledge and understanding while those who need it are given support for their learning in one-to-one or small group sessions.
